I have always tried to learn more by experimenting. So when I say how other people were successful at illustrating a subject, it was just a mater of determining how they did it. In the process of reconstructing the type of drawing and why it looked the way it did, I figured out how they did it.

You should be able to see for your self how each example is just a little better than the average drawing. The difference between a photo and a drawing is what I want you to see. I have stripped away everything but I the part of the photo that you can identify as the subject.
